Quick Tips to Write a Better Blog

You’ve decided to add blogging to your content marketing strategy. You’ve brainstormed a list of topics that will bring value to your customers, and you’re ready to start writing. Before you begin, here are five quick tips that will help you write content that connects to your audience, drives people to your website, and strengthens your SEO.

Keep your audience in mind
Once you’ve decided which subject or issue you want to blog about, the next question to ask is: Who is going to be reading this?

You wouldn’t talk to your buddies in the same way you’d talk to your boss. The same principle applies when you write marketing content.

Tailor your writing to where you’re going to post
Will your blog sit on your website? Are you planning to share it over Facebook? Or maybe on LinkedIn? Each digital platform attracts a slightly different demographic.

Your company website will attract existing and new customers. LinkedIn is the place where your company can connect with potential business partners. And your Facebook and Instagram accounts are a chance for your company to interact with the general public.

Where does your audience like to hang out? Maybe they are on YouTube, TikTok, or Spotify - in which case it might be better to spend your valuable time creating a vlog or podcast.

Timing counts
You may have thousands of followers, but if you post your blog when nobody’s online your hard work could go to waste. Becoming familiar with basic analytics can help you find out when your audience is most active on social media. If you need more in-depth analysis, reach out to an expert for help.

Share your news
Social media share buttons are there for a reason. They make it easy to share your blog across different platforms. So, don’t just leave your blog sitting on your website. And don’t turn off the comments. Yes, you’ll need to monitor and respond to them, but social media is all about starting a conversation and building connections that will help grow your business.

Be consistent
Nothing is worse than a business blog with a handful of outdated posts. Whether you decide to post once a week, once a month, or once a season, make a schedule and stick to it. If you’re too busy with the day-to-day work of running your company, or just hate to write, working with a professional copywriter can help you successfully execute your blogging plan!
