About

A few words about me.

I’m a former classical musician and world-traveller. A free spirit who put down roots but never lost her taste for adventure. An accidental hockey mom who now loves the game.

As an award-winning freelance writer and the owner of Spilled Ink Writing & Wordsmithing, I’m blessed to have stumbled upon a second career I love.

I believe words can do more than simply communicate an idea. They have the power to set a scene, evoke an emotion, and provoke a response. They have meaning, sound, and rhythm.

Words are the tools of my trade, and the raw material of my craft. I’m a professional wordsmith – a journalist, a copywriter, a business communicator. And I write until I get it right.

Are you ready to take your words seriously?

As a professional content creator and copywriter based in London, ON, I work with clients throughout Ontario, across Canada, and beyond.

I write for entrepreneurs, start-ups, nationally-recognized companies, educational institutions, and not-for-profits. I also write for busy marketing directors, overstretched agencies, and web designers who need a writer-to-the-rescue to help get things done.

People hire me because I'm a seasoned professional and a quick study. As a trained journalist and award-winning copywriter, I bring more than 15 years of experience to every project. I know how to find a compelling angle, conduct research, interview, fact-check, and write in a voice that speaks to your intended audience.

People become regular clients (and sometimes even friends) because I'm easy to work with. That's because I genuinely enjoy my job. Regardless of the writing assignment, I strive to make the process a pleasure for everyone involved.

I'm known for delivering high-quality work and being a mistress of time management. I pride myself on meeting deadlines and working within budget. If I run into an issue that may delay your project, you'll be the first to know.

As a solopreneur, I write every word. I do not subcontract any of my copywriting.

I love variety and consider storytelling my niche. But I’m not a jack-of-all-trades. If your project requires a photographer, graphic designer, or web designer, I would be delighted to introduce you to my network of professional colleagues.

Whether you're starting from a blank page, or have existing copy that could benefit from an extra set of eyes, I'd be happy to discuss your writing needs.
